James Hearly Coffman, Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born August 5, 1950 in Keokuk, Iowa the son of John Leon and Florence Louise (Seal) Coffman. He departed this life on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 62 years.
James was employed in the housekeeping department at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri for 20 years. Later he worked at VSI Sheltered Workshop, Liberty, Missouri for 13 years and then the Casco Area Workshop, Harrisonville for 7 years. James liked to draw, was involved with the Concerned Care, North Kansas City, Missouri, where he was in a bowling league and participated in the Special Olympics.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
James is survived by his sister, Iris Thompson, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Inurnment in the Clearfork Cemetery near Garden City, Missouri at a later date.
