Mrs. Janice Wilette Perry of Harrisonville, Missouri was born October 9, 1937 in Hopkins, Missouri the daughter of Joe Reed and Lural Bessie (Damgar) Peery. She departed this life Monday, July 30, 2007 at her home near Harrisonville surrounded by her family at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 21 days.
On June 22, 1956, Jan was united in marriage to Darrell Leon Busbea in Kansas City, Missouri and later married Wirt Perry on November 24, 1964 in Miami, Oklahoma.
Jan was a homemaker. She was a member of the Harrisonville Mennonite Church, Harrisonville. She served her church as a Sunday morning greeter and four times a year was involved in the preparation for church communion. Jan served for 6 years as a Pink Lady at the Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville. She volunteered her time in the Gift Shop and served for two years as the Pink Ladies Recorder of Hours. She was proud to offer the Jan Perry Scholarship through the Cass Medical Center Foundation for the continuing education of Nurses. Jan had lived in Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville in April of 1966.
Besides her parents, Jan was preceded in death by two brothers, Edmond and Donald Peery and a sister, Jo Ellen Peery.
She is survived by her husband, Wirt Perry of the home; two sons, Randall Busbea, Harrisonville, Missouri, Richard Busbea, El Segundo, California; a step-daughter, Tammy Lynn Vallejos, St. Joseph, Missouri; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Peery, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Ronald Peery, Peculiar, Missouri; two sisters, Jo Earlene Rankin, Maryville, Missouri, Joyce Cowan, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends. Even though Jan is at peace and happy with the Lord, she will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
