Jerry D. Simmons, 67, Overland Park, KS beloved husband, father and friend, went to be with the Lord on November 4, at 2:48 a.m. surrounded by the love of his immediate family.
Jerry was born on March 28, 1949 in Joplin, MO. His passion was to build lives and he accomplished this by serving others instead of being served. His love for the Lord and people was evident in everything he did. A born entrepreneur, he was able to create success in many different fields of business from an early age.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Toni L. Simmons, married on September 27, 1986 in Vail, Colorado, and his sons, Brenton R. Simmons (wife Taylor A. Simmons), Bryce D. Simmons, Brady M. Simmons, Jason C. Simmons.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry D. Simmons, Parents, Ross and Edith Simmons, and brothers, Gary and Larry Simmons.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Church of The Harvest, Olathe, Kansas.
Graveside services were held Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, Kansas.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Jerry Simmons Memorial Park Fund.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Dickey Funeral Homes, Harrisonville, Missouri.
