Jerry Wayne Garrie of Clinton, Missouri formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri was born October 23, 1946 in Bevier, Kentucky the son of Demas and Lora Eulala (Dukes) Garrie. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by love and family at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 19 days.
On November 3, 1968 JW was united in marriage to Carrol Ann Stansberry in Creighton, Missouri.
JW was employed as a supervisor for Silpada Designs in Lenexa, Kansas until his retirement. He formerly was employed by the City of Harrisonville Police Department first as a patrol officer and then a detective and later was head of security for the House of Lloyd in Grandview, Missouri. JW was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Salvation Lutheran Church, Harrisonville, Missouri. He will be remembered for the love of his family. JW enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and watching John Wayne movies. He had lived in Harrisonville before moving to Clinton in 2019.
JW was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Aubrey Wayne Renchen; his son, Michael Garrie on May 15, 1992; a brother, Roger Renchen.
He is survived by his wife, Carrol A. Garrie of the home; two sons, Richard P. Garrie (Shana), St. Augustine, Florida, Scott R. Garrie (Kate), Harrisonville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Faith Cauthon, Hope Garrie, Jacob Garrie, Luke Garrie, Ellie Garrie, and Michael Garrie; his brother, Larry D. Garrie, Clinton, Wisconsin; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Interment will be in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 17, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Lutheran Church, Harrisonville, Missouri.
