Elton James Haralson, 88, of Harrisonville, formerly of Holden and Pleasant Hill, was born Sunday, March 2, 1924, in Wishart, Missouri the son of Walter and Opal (Cox) Haralson. He departed this life Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the Crown Care Center in Harrisonville.
Jim was a United State Army World War II Veteran. On July 25, 1944, he was united in marriage to Eva Pauline Young in Kansas City, Kansas. She preceded him in death on August 12, 2010.
Jim owned and operated the Haralson Construction Company. He was a life member of the American Legion and was an Ancient Free and Accepted Mason.
He was also preceded in death by one son, James Ray Haralson; his twin brother, Elvin Haralson, his brother Walter Haralson; and one sister Laura Ruth Jones.
He is survived by a son, Dennis L. Haralson and wife Keleta of Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Diane Oliver and husband Jim of Geneva, Florida; 4 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the New Life Fellowship Baptist Church in Holden. Pastor Mike Wakeman will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Army and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers are Daniel Haralson, Dennis Haralson, Jr., Warren Haralson, Darin Hooker, and Pat Taylor
