John Richard Morganelli, of Harrisonville, Missouri was born January 10, 1940 in Boston, Massachusets the son of Salvatore and Clementina (Diesso) Morganelli. He departed this life on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 10 days.
On March 28, 1983, John was united in marriage to Genevieve Donie Flud in Las Vegas, Nevada.
John was employed in Quality Control with the China Lake Navel Weapons Base in Ridgecrest, California until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed listening to music and was a great fan of Classical music and Opera and watching the Bill Gaither programs. John loved to read his bible everyday, eat pizza and pasta and travel to the east coast. He had lived in several places before moving to Harrisonville to be near family on December 17, 2012.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Jordan Paul Macias; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Genevieve Morganelli of the home; his daughter, Christina; his son, John Jr.; his step-children, Jim, Dennis, Sam, Christie, Johnny and Suzette; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ann and Josie and brother, Albert; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial is in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
