Karen Kaye Ayres
Karen Kaye Ayres passed away peacefully on Jan. 26, 2023. She was surrounded by her family as she left this world. If you knew Karen, you knew how important family and friends were to her. She never met a stranger!
Karen grew up around Creighton, MO and while in high school, was a cheerleader and basketball player. She could walk downstairs while doing a back bend!
She had a passion for gardening, NASCAR, and threw the best Halloween parties on the planet! Her noodles, pork burritos and red velvet cake were legendary. At the age of 75, she took her first airplane ride and parachuted out of it! She was a spitfire all wrapped up in her 4'9" body!
Karen's parents, Harold James and Carol Marie (Marlow) Gregg, and her 2 brothers, Robert and Jerry Gene Gregg, were waiting to greet her at Heaven's gates. She has one surviving sister, Sharon Akins. Karen leaves behind 3 children, Marsha Earley, Mitchell Sell and Rebecca Reed. She leaves 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Feb. 1st from 5-7 pm at Dickey's Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Please come share laughs, tears and memories with us!
