Kathryn "Kathy" Samuelson

Kathryn “Kathy” Kay Samuelson (Weers), 75 years old, passed away on October 16, 2022 surrounded by family. Kathy was born on February 2, 1947 in Louisburg, KS to Iva Mae (Kerr) and Fred Edward Weers. Kathy enjoyed living on the family farm, and her favorite memory was getting on a horse and riding away by herself.   She graduated from Louisburg High School in 1965.  She was a dedicated member of The Worship Center Church, in Harrisonville, MO. She was a homemaker and raised her 3 children and faithfully babysat her grandchildren.

Kathy was a woman that would help anyone in need even if it meant she went without. From donating her time at church with the children in nursery, to helping someone in need without thinking twice. She wasn’t afraid to give you her opinion, even if you did not want it. She may have seemed rough around the edges, but once you got to know her, you knew she meant well.

Her favorite verse in the Bible was John 14:27- Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Kathy is survived by two daughters, Angela Beasley and Lisa Gillespie-Bormann, and one son, Davin Samuelson (Hanna). She had nine grandchildren Daniel Hecox, Heather Burkhart, Haley Burkhart, Delaynie (Joseph) Coen, Brayden Gillespie, Katelyn Gillespie, Daren Bormann Jr., Harmony Samuelson and Zane Samuelson and one brother, Larry Weers.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Iva Mae and Fred Weers, three brothers Ronald Weers, Edward Weers, David Weers and one sister, Nila Weers.
