Keith Duane Morris of Creighton, Mo. was born May 1, 1937 in Miller, Mo. the son of Russell Hagler and Naomi Elizabeth (Ross) Morris. He departed this life on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Mo. at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 1 day.
On July 6, 1962, Keith was united in marriage to Bonnie Suzan Thornburg in Urich, Mo.
Keith was employed as a sheet metal worker for 17 years for Honeywell in Kansas City before his retirement in 1997 and earlier for 21 years at Midwest Metal Products, Kansas City, Ks. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of the Urich Baptist Church and the Aerospace Union, Kansas City. Keith enjoyed his family, grandchildren, his dogs, Abby and Mollie, the outdoors, mowing, gardening, feeding the fish and wildlife on the farm. He was proud to live on the Ross Family Farm for the past 42 years. Keith had moved to Creighton in 1945.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Keith Morris on November 11, 2002; a sister, Imogene Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie S. Morris of the home; a daughter, Sherri Carter and husband, Roger, Carl Junction, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Holly Morris, Creighton, Mo.; 4 grandchildren, Kami Smith, Caitlyn and Cole Carter, Michaela Morris; 2 step-grandchildren, Monica and Jerrod; 2 brothers, J L Morris, Peculiar, Mo., Kevin Morris, Creighton, Mo.; a sister, Colleen Branum, Raytown, Mo.; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Burial will be at the Byler Cemetery.
