Lelia Elton Graef

Lelia Elton (Boyles) Graef, of Orrick, Missouri, was born March 29, 1918, near Hartwell, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Amos and Goldie Myrtle (Woirhaye) Boyles. She departed this life on Tuesday, Nov. 10 2009, at her home at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 11 days.
On Sept 23, 1939, Lelia was united in marriage to James Lee Graef in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lelia and James celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary this fall.
Lelia was a homemaker. She was a member and Elder of the Evangel Presbyterian Church and was a great woman of faith who cherished her family and friends. Lelia was a kind and nurturing woman who never knew a stranger and always had an open heart and generous hospitality. She loved nature, to fish, travel, read and spend time with her family. Her loving nurturing spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Lee Graef on Oct. 27, 2009; her sister, Joyce Evans and her brother, Hoy Fern Boyles.
She is survived by a son, James E Graef and wife Perry, Blairstown Missouri; a daughter: Janice Hutcherson and husband Ron, Orrick, Missouri; 4 grandchildren: Tim Graef (Sara), Blairstown, Missouri, Terri Kedigh, Urich, Missouri, Steve Hutcherson (Val), Walcott, North Dakota, Don Hutcherson (Jenny), St. Paul, Kansas; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; her brother, Bill Boyles (Erna), Nixa, Missouri; a sister, Ila Calton, Independence; Missouri; and a brother-in-law, Ervin Graef (Irene) Urich, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A memorial service was held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
