Leslie George Meyer, 49, of Garden City, was born Sept. 21, 1962, at Clinton, the son of Charles H. Meyer and Dolores (O’Neal) Meyer. He died Wed., Sept. 19, 2012, at Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville, Missouri.
George attended elementary school at Urich and graduated from Sherwood High School in 1981. George assisted his father in farming during his high school years and was an agriculture Vo-Tech student at Clinton for two years. While in high school, he was member of the Future Farmer’s of America and enjoyed his black 1966 Chevelle Super Sport.
George married Kimberly Ann Clark of Garden City on May 20, 1989.
George worked as a quality control supervisor at NeCo Seeds at Garden City for 18 years and as an operator at Superior-Bowen Asphalt Company in Kansas City, MO. George enjoyed camping, hunting, and shooting clay pigeons with Justin and Asa. He also liked playing basketball with Asa and watching Rachel cheer at ballgames. George enjoyed taking long walks at night with his dog Max and cooking with his wife, especially grilling outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his father and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
George is survived by his wife Kim, 2 sons; Justin and Asa Meyer, and 1 daughter; Rachel Meyer of the home; his mother, Dolores Meyer of Creighton, 2 brothers, Terry Meyer and wife Janet, Pleasant Hill, and Chuck Meyer, Creighton; 2 sisters, Julie Allee and husband Ron, Creighton, and Susanne Dierking and husband Kent, Pleasant Hill, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
George will be remembered as a kind, friendly man who loved his family and friends. George had a big heart; he was always willing to help others.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Monday, September 24, 2012 at the United Methodist Church, Creighton, Missouri.
