Linda L. Honeycutt

Linda passed away June 20, 2009, at the Kansas City Hospice House after a brave, four year battle with cancer. Linda was born February 16, 1948, in Independence, MO. The third of five children of Gene and Mary Martin, Linda was raised on the family farm near Chilhowee, MO.
After graduating from Chilhowee High School, Linda attended Central Missouri State University where she received her degree in education in 1970. After graduation, Linda embarked on one of her life passions of educating children. Linda taught 2nd grade at Cambridge Elementary School in Belton, MO for more than 30 years during which time also obtained her Master?s Degree in education from Webster University.
In 1983, Linda married William ?Bill? Honeycutt and the two made their home in Harrisonville, MO, where they enjoyed dancing, the outdoors, and traveling. Linda?s other passions included her four beloved cats, spending time with family, and playing cards with friends. Linda was known for her kindness and was friend and inspiration to many as well as a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisonville.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, and two brothers Michael and Jerry Martin.
Survivors include her sisters, Carolyn Bradbury (and husband James) and Sharon Schroer (and husband Virgil) both of Raytown, MO. Linda was also a loving step mom to Wyndell and Wynell Honeycutt and a special aunt to 6 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express a special note of thanks to the Kansas City Hospice House and the wonderful people who assisted Linda and her family members in the last few weeks of her life.
The loss and our beloved sister and friend will leave a hole in our hearts forever. She will be missed by many.
A celebration of her life was held Thursday, June 25th, at the First Baptist Church of Harrisonville with burial at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, MO.
