Mrs. Mable Gerturde Jataner “Jay” Stebbins of Garden City, Missouri was born October 2, 1934 in Cherokee Falls, South Carolina the daughter of Theadore McAll and Dicey Annamae (Patterson) Spencer. She departed this life on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 21 days.
Mable was employed as a welder and grinder for Libby Manufacturing Company, Kansas City, Missouri until her retirement in 1997. Earlier she was employed at Holden Implement, Holden, Missouri and Ericson-Anaconda, Harrisonville, Missouri. Mable enjoyed cooking and visiting with family and friends and reading. She felt her greatest accomplishment in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of each and everyone and will always be loved and missed deeply by her family and friends.
Besides her parents, Mable was preceded in death by three grandsons; Shane, Ryan Paul and Wayne; a great-granddaughter, Angel; three brothers, Ted, George and Glenn Spencer; three sisters, Frances Miller, Mamie Lee Payne and Carol Spencer.
Mable is survived by her husband, Hollie Stebbins Jr., LaTour, Missouri; five sons, Lloyd Stebbins (June) Garden City, Missouri, Zeke Gregory (Peggy) Inverness, Florida, Ronald Stebbins, LaTour, Missouri, Hollie Stebbins III, Raytown, Missouri, Howard Lee Elkins (Kathy) Bessner City, North Carolina; three daughters, Judy Stallings (Ronnie) Huntingtown, Maryland, Pat Bell (Michael) Blacksburg, South Carolina, Tina Crust (John) Garden City, Missouri; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Spencer and Edward Craig Spencer, a sister, Vergie Parker all of Blacksburg, South Carolina; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, LaTour, Missouri.
Family will received friends Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
