Madeline F. (Chausse) Allen of Harrisonville, MO was born February 23, 1916 in Bosworth, MO, the daughter of John Wesley and Allie Mae Chausse. She departed this world on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the age of 100 years, 6 months, and 3 days.
She lived most of her young life in Garden City, MO. In 1937, she married Chester L. Allen on her 21st birthday and moved to Harrisonville. They were married 57 years.
She worked at the local telephone company (which later became Sprint) from 1937 to 1977, when she retired. She was a member of the Bayard Chapter #179 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Harrisonville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; brother, Clifford Chausse; and sisters, Marguerite Hughes, Aleen Stover and Genevieve Williams.
She is survived by her nieces, Lora Palmer, Karla Standlee and Judy Goodwin, all of Wichita, KS; Beverly Bolinger and Janet Wallace, both of Kansas City; Imogene Wilkinson of Springfield, MO; and nephew Gerald Stover of Lee’s Summit, MO.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
An Eastern Star Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Final arrangements entrusted to Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
