Marcus Bowens Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marcus DeWayne Bowens, Sr. a proud husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on September 20, 2024. Marcus, proud to have been sober for 8 years, found joy and purpose in life, guided by his strong faith and unwavering relationship with God. 

A man of service and kindness, Marcus was known for his generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had a love for Pitbulls and cherished the adventures of his favorite 

job as a semi-truck driver. He embraced every moment with gratitude, finding joy in his family and the simple pleasures of life. 

His children and grandchildren were his proudest joys and would let you know just how proud he was of them. Marcus will be remembered for his warm smile, his big heart, and the countless acts of kindness he shared with others. 

Marcus was preceded in death by his Mother, Nancy Hankins, Father, Karl Bowens, and grandson, Sefonias Bowens. He is survived by his cherished wife, Kelsey: daughters Chrysanthemum and Ashley, and son Marcus, Jr. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Semarias, Emma, Amiyah, Hezekiah, Zariah, Marcus III, Aydin, Raydin, and many other friends and family who were touched by his kindness, generosity, and love. 

Though he has left this world, the impact of Marcus Bowens will be felt forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
