Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Baker of Harrisonville, Missouri was born October 16, 1914 in Highpoint, North Carolina the daughter of Clyde Wayman and Bertha Beatrice (Marsh) Amos. She departed this life Thursday, January 26, 2006 to be with her Lord at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 10 days.
On, December 22, 1961, Margaret was united in marriage to Jesse Baker in Reno, Nevada.
Margaret was a homemaker. She was a Christian and a member of East Lynne 1st. Baptist Church, East Lynne, Missouri. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Gridley, California where she taught the Adult Sunday School class for 14 years. Margaret had lived in Gridley before moving to Foxcroft Senior Citizens Complex in Harrisonville in 1992.
Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse on April 23, 1985; a grandson, Stephen Hatfield; two brothers, Glen and Charles G. ""Tom"" Hatfield.
She is survived by a son, R.L. Hatfield, Buffalo, Missouri; a daughter, Nancy L. Scott, Harrisonville, Missouri; three grandchildren; Chuck, Eric and Chantal; 6 great-grandchildren; Haley, Brandi, Ronnie, Phillip, Jeff and Beau; a great-great-grandson, Pierce; a sister, Mary Lou Spinning, Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A memorial service was held Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, East Lynne, Missouri.
