Marilyn Lang Hayes

Marilyn Lang Hays, 71, of Pleasant Hill, was born, December 29, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Louis M. and Pearl F. (Lang) Clark. She departed this life, Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
Marilyn was a 1963 Raytown High School graduate. She furthered her education attending the House of Heavilin Beauty School.
On May 22, 1970, she was united in marriage to Jerry L. Hays in Independence. He preceded her in death.
Marilyn was employed as a Hairstylist Instructor for the House of Heavilin Beauty School. Later she worked as a florist for Cosentino’s Price Chopper in Pleasant Hill. She enjoyed reading cookbooks, playing board games, attending her grandchildren’s events, and just spending time with her family.
Marilyn was preceded in by one brother, Louis M. Clark, III, and one sister Peggy Corrine Nalls.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Hays and Son Stephen (and Jennifer) Hays, all of Pleasant Hill; five grandchildren, Jerry Hays, John Michael Hays, Brittany Hays, Cole Hays, and Lucas Hays; her niece, Lisa (and Dennis) Day, of Pleasant Hill; several other nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Cremation has been accorded.
Memorial services were held Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Hope United Methodist Church, 525 Hunter Ln., Lone Jack, Missouri 64070. Reverend Creighton Cox will officiate.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Parklawn Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
