Marilynn J. Thornburg of Pleasant Valley, Missouri was born June 13, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Alfred Eugene and Jean Frances (Miller) Toman. She departed this life on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 11 days.
On November 21, 1970 Marilynn was united in marriage to Otto "Gene" Thornburg in Kansas City, Missouri.
Marilynn was employed for 35 years as an executive assistant for Cook Composites and Polymers in North Kansas City, Missouri before her retirement. She had lived in Kansas City and North of the River before moving to Pleasant Valley. Marilynn loved the outdoors and enjoyed going fishing on the farm. She was an excellent cook, loved to garden and do canning. She could accomplish anything she set her mind to do. Marilynn was a loving wife and helped, Gene do anything and everything on the farm.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marilynn is survived by her husband, Gene of the home; her brother, Allen E. Toman, Excelsior Springs, Missouri and her loving pet, Emma; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Byler Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Byler Cemetery Fund.
