Mrs. Mary Alice Schnorf of Creighton, Missouri was born August 13, 1920 near Austin, Missouri the daughter of William A. and Bertha (Cartwright) Blaine. She departed this life on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at her home near Creighton surrounded by her family at the age of 91 years and 7 days.
On August 25, 1939, Mary was united in marriage to Leon B. Schnorf.
Mary was a mother, wife and homemaker. Earlier she was a cook for Creighton and Sherwood Schools and a waitress at the Snack Shop in Garden City. Missouri. She worked as a secretary for her husband, Leon at his insurance offices in Garden City and at home. Mary was a member of the Creighton Christian Church and was a lifelong area resident.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leon on February 3, 1999; her brother Lawrence Blaine and her sister, Rozella Sisk.
Mary is survived by 2 sons, Jerry Schnorf and wife, Brenda, Kansas City, Missouri, Larry Schnorf and wife, Janet, Creighton, Missouri; a daughter, Delores Mackedanz, Harrisonville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Janelle, Matthew, Michelle, Larra, David and Danny; Thirteen great-grandchildren, Zachary, Von, Madison, Joshua, Blaine, Chelbi, Wyatt, Ashlyn, Ella, Laynee, Michael, Chantel and Jaime; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Grant Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice.
