"VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE"

Mary Elizabeth Quick, 84, of Harrisonville, MO, went home to the Lord in the early morning hours on February 8, 2012 at Saint Luke’s East Hospital. Her passing marked the end to a brave and courageous four-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was born September 29, 1927 in Kansas City, MO. Mary was the second youngest of twelve children born to Emma and John Riedl. Mary was the last survivor of her twelve siblings.
Mary Quick was a wonderful and dedicated mother to Mike, Raymond, Teresa, and Susan. Mary was forged and molded from the era known as The Great Depression. Hard work, dedication, mental toughness, and faith embodied everything she did and stood for. She worked her entire life to ensure her family understood and practiced those values. Mary retired from Avon and Wal-Mart respectively.
Mary always felt her purpose in life was to spread the word of God and be an instrument of the Lords message. Mary loved to hold group prayers and counsel for those in need. She had a knack for listening to people’s problems and helping them seek guidance from the Lord. It is safe to say that anyone who spent time with Mary spent time in prayer. A few of Mary’s interest were Bible study, painting, listening to opera, yard beautification, and interior decorating.
Mary is predeceased by mother, Emma Riedl and father, John Riedl; five brothers, John, Raymond, Joseph, Frank, and Michael; six sisters, Emma, Theresa, Mary, Cecelia, Catherine, and Betty; grandson, Keith Quick.
Mary is survived by her four children, Michael Quick, Raymond Quick, Teresa Quick and Susan Headley; five grandchildren, Michelle Quick, Chasity Ortiz, Brad Quick, Wayne Quick, and Joshua Headley; three great grandchildren, Joey Quick, Justin Quick, and Alysa Quick.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the City Mission, Kansas City, Missouri.
