Mrs. Mary Irene Buck, of Freeman, Missouri was born December 27, 1919 the daughter of William Lee and Christy Irene (Erisman) Sanders. She departed this life Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 18 days.
On January 28, 1938, Mary was united in marriage to James Alfred Buck in Kansas City, Kansas.
Mary was a homemaker. Earlier she had been employed with Bosch Embroidery and also at Pratt and Whitney both in Kansas City, Missouri. Mary loved being with her family and interacting with all of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Central Bible Hall Church and loved the Lord very much. Mary enjoyed painting, quilting, all kinds of needle work, fishing and camping. After moving into Crown Care, she really enjoyed playing bingo and winning the prizes and displaying them in her room.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Buck on December 15, 2000; two brothers, William D. Sanders and Henry Sanders; infant brother and sister, Eddie and Virginia Sanders.
Mary is survived by a son, Jim R. Buck and wife Sharon; two daughters, Juna Lee MacDowell and husband Bruce and Peggy Ferguson all of Freeman, Missouri; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard A. Sanders, Overland Park, Kansas; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri.
