Mrs. Mary Lou Thomas of Raytown, Missouri was born February 9, 1917 near Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of Charles Robert and Harriet May (Lemmer) Anderson. She departed this life on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Hidden Lake Care Center, Raytown, Missouri at the age of 94 years and 1 day.
Mary Lou was united in marriage to Foster Lee Thomas on August 29, 1939 in Harrisonville and later married Leonard Clarence Dresser on August 5, 1988 in Enid, Oklahoma.
Mary Lou was a secretary for Allstate Insurance Co. in Kansas City, Missouri from 1955 to 1970. Earlier she was a secretary for United Marine, Kansas City and later for Crouch, Crouch, Spangler & Douglas, Harrisonville from 1971 to 1976. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville and had attended Huff Business College, Kansas City. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, handcrafts, needlework and crossword puzzles. Mary Lou had lived in Harrisonville before moving to Raytown in 1999.
Besides her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her two husbands, Foster and Leonard and her brother, John M. Anderson.
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Jim Thomas and wife, Pat, Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jenifer Thomas-Monahan and husband, Joe, Raytown, Missouri; Chris Thomas, Kansas City, Missouri; a great-grandson, Davin; other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri.
Family will receive friends Thursday, Febraury 17, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
