Mary Catherine Maupin

Mary Catherine Maupin of Leavenworth, Kansas was born June 15, 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Virgil Vaughn and Catherine Julia (Strickler) File.  She departed this life of Friday, January 27, 2023 at Merriam Gardens Health and Rehab, Shawnee, Kansas surrounded with love and family at the age of 95 years, 7 months and 12 days. 

On October 3, 1964 Mary was united in marriage to Vernon Eugene Maupin in Kansas City, Kansas.

Mary was employed as a machine operator for Western Envelope, Kansas City, Missouri until her retirement in 1987.  She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, canning, sewing and cooking.  Mary had lived in Odessa and Independence before moving to Leavenworth, Kansas.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon on September 6, 1997; her two sons, Gary and Ronald Helton and a grand-daughter, Catherine Sue Walker.

Mary is survived by a son, Charles A. Helton, Leavenworth, Kansas; her daughter, Linda Billings, Richmond, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
