Mary Ann Pech

Mary Ann Pech was born August 27, 1954. She attended School House Number 36, a one room school in rural Cass County. At the age of 12, she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1972.

Mary Ann worked full-time at the USDA, Marion-Merrell-Dow and Aquila. She also worked part-time at various retail stores, with the last one being Marshall’s in Belton.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gerald and Vivian Pech, and her Uncle Marlow and Aunt Flossie Hodges. She is survived by her sisters, Cindy (Robert) Leeper and Kathy Burkitt. Fondly known as “Auntie M”, surviving nephews are Robbie (Shawna) Leeper and Travis Leeper and nieces Stephanie (Craig) Cumpton, Jennifer (Jonny) Sims, Jessica (Nelson) Vazquez and 4 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces.

Mary Ann enjoyed volunteering for Operation Christmas Child and as Tutalu the clown. Mary Ann organized engagements for the 4-Ever Clown Group that marched in community parades, volunteered at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, City Union Mission, Children’s Liturgical Services and served breakfast at the KC Hospice House.

Mary Ann loved traveling and went to many clown conventions, took trips with friends, traveled with her sister and niece, and took a cruise on the Mediterranean Sea to Italy, Greece and Turkey.

As a devoted and loyal friend, Mary Ann had many friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at HOA Club House, 609 S. Street, Peculiar, Missouri 64078.
