Monica Kawallek

Mrs. Monica Ann Kawallek, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born October 1, 1935 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of Harvey Lee Matthews and Georgia Pauline (Dobson) Matthews Jorgensen. She departed this life Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 3 days.
On January 22, 1955, Monica was united in marriage to John Otto Kawallek.
Monica was employed with United Telephone, which later became Sprint, in Warrensburg, Missouri until her retirement in 1994. Earlier she had been employed with Bendix, Kansas City, Missouri. Monica was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville and was a lifelong area resident. She was a great cook and loved to grow a vegetable garden.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kawallek on October 27, 1990; a sister, Dixie Helt and her step-father, Oscar ""Swede"" Jorgensen.
She is survived by two sons, Curtis K. Kawallek and wife Lynn, Preston, Missouri, David R. Kawallek and wife, Karen, Lee's Summit, Missouri; three granddaughters, Centa, Brit and Shayla; a sister, Georgia Williams, Stockton, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside service and interment
was held Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

may be made to the Crossroads Hospice.
