Mylan ?Mike? Henry Boysen, of Garden City, Missouri was born February 5, 1941 in Tilden, Nebraska the son of Henry William Jr. and Ruth Virginia (Whisman) Boysen. He departed this life Saturday, September 11, 2010 at his home at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 6 days.
On February 24, 1981, Mike was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean Madison in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mike owned and operated Mike?s Floor Covering Inspections, Garden City, until his retirement in June 2010. Earlier he had been a dairy farmer, truck drive and tried his hand in many things. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Creighton, Missouri. Mike was an avid quail and deer hunter.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Knifong and a brother, Stephen Boysen.
Mike is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. Boysen of the home; two sons, Donald Sims Jr., Grandview, Missouri, Anthony Boysen, Oak Grove, Missouri; five daughters, Penny Barton, Gunn City, Missouri, Sheri Adams, Clinton, Missouri, Marlene Johosky and Susan Sims both of Belton, Missouri, Carrie Bell, Warrensburg, Missouri; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Beckham, Harrisonville, Missouri; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Cremation. Memorial services were held Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with inurnment in the Gunn City Cemetery.
