Mrs. Opal Pearl Brown, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, was born March 17, 1908 in Blairstown, Missouri, the daughter of Louis Houston and Della Pearl (Elliott) Wood. She departed this life Saturday, January 13, 2007, John Knox Village Care Center, Lee's Summit at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 26 days.
In 1928, Opal was united in marriage to James Beauford Brown in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Opal was a homemaker. She loved the outdoors and had lived in the Cass County area before moving to Lee's Summit in 1999.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JB Brown in 1973; a brother, Leonard Wood; twin sisters, Ruth Coy and Rose Anderson.
She is survived by a sister, Ruby F. Oberweather, Lee's Summit, Missouri; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service & interment was held, Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Holden Cemetery, Holden, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice.
