Phyllis Tumbleson Gammon passed away peacefully on December 29, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. Phyllis was born on December 12, 1932 in Hutton Valley, Missouri to Rolland and Esther Bryan.
She married George A. Tumbleson on August 16, 1951 and shortly thereafter moved to San Diego, California where she raised 4 children, was very active in First Christian Church of El Cajon, received her degree in early childhood education and owned and taught at Mother Goose Preschool.
The couple moved to Idabel, Oklahoma in 1980 where Phyllis went to work for Head Start. George passed away in 1982. In 1985 Phyllis met and married Arthur Gammon. They were married for 11 years.
Phyllis retired from Choctaw Nation Head Start in 1999 and moved to Harrisonville, Missouri to be near her son George R.Tumbleson.
Phyllis enjoyed quilting, card making, sewing, baking and having her family visit.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth/Phillip Crozier of Boise, Idaho; daughter Susan Huddleston of Sesser, Illinois; son George R. Tumbleson of Harrisonville, Missouri; daughter-in-law Darlene Tumbleson of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; sister Marilyn Hays of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband(s) George A. Tumbleson and Arthur Gammon. Her son David Tumbleson and her great granddaughter Jayden DeLuca.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at First Christian Church of Harrisonville, Harrisonville, Missouri.
