Colonel John A Riffle of Pleasant Hill, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 1,2011 at the age of 95. Visitation was held at the Dickey Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO on Friday, November 4, 2011. Funeral services were held Saturday, Novermber 5, 2011. Burial with Military Honors was held at the family farm.
John was born November 14,1915, on the Family Farm just south of Pleasant Hill, MO to John V. and Barbara Elizabeth Riffle. After 33 1/2 years service in the military, Col. Riffle retired in 1975 to continue a 25 year career with Williams Meat Company in Kansas City, KS.
John and Jean were married at the Memorial Chapel in Fort Leavenworth, KS on October 16,1983. His partnership with Jean, whom he cherished very much, brought him a lifetime of happiness. He will be greatly missed.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Air Force Acadamy Library.
