Rita Ann Takacs, 90, of Beaufort, South Carolina, formerly of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, September 29, 1930, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Ball) Masiado. She departed this life, Sunday, September 5, 2021, at The Retreat at Lady’s Island Assisted Living Facility in Beaufort, South Carolina.
Rita was a 1949, Liberty High School graduate in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
On December 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Gene J. “Jeep” Takacs in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2018.
Rita was a life-long homemaker, dedicated to her husband and their three children. She was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and crafting. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Rita was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother Joseph Masiado; and two sons, Robert and David.
Rita is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Trish Takacs of Beaufort, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Emily (and Jimmy) Day of Olathe, Kansas, Molly Takacs of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Gracie Takacs of Overland Park, Kansas; five great grandchildren, Liam, Dawson, Jameson, Jaxon, and Mia; a niece, Geraldine (Snooks) Tocchini of Easton, Pennsylvania; other relatives and friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Father Curt Vogel will officiate. The family will receive friends 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Graveside services and inurnment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Shawnee, Kansas at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October2, 2021.
