Robert H. Sudhoff

Robert H. Sudhoff, Jr. 88, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, February 17, 1928, in Richmond, Indiana, the son of Robert H. and M. Florence (Riggleman) Sudhoff, Sr. He departed this life at 6:44 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2017, at his home surrounded with love and family.
Bob or “Paco” to his family and close friends was a 1946 Richmond High school graduate. In 1947 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 1st Calvary during the occupation of Japan. Upon returning home he went to Purdue University earning a degree in Horticulture.
On August 20, 1950, he was united in marriage to Patricia Louise Darnell in Richmond.
Bob worked as a florist his entire life. He had been employed by Keach Nursery in Richmond and Dr. Truly’s Greenhouse in South Bend Indiana. In 1958 he and Pat moved to Pleasant Hill to work for the A.D. Mohr Greenhouse he spent 32 years with the company retiring in 1990. He loved working in his yard, gardening, fishing, and listening to music. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was an enthusiastic supporter in all of their sporting events. He had been an active member of the Pleasant Hill Booster Club. He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Hill.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Pat of the home; three children, Doug (and Diane) Sudhoff of Maryville, Missouri, Terry (and Patty) Sudhoff of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Linda (and Robin) Clark of Pleasant Hill; seven grandchildren, Katie Sudhoff of Washington D.C., Ryan Sudhoff of Dallas, Texas, B.J. Sudhoff of Steven’s Point, Wisconsin, Kyle Sudhoff of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Corey Sudhoff of Olathe, Kansas, Casey Sudhoff of North Kansas City, Missouri, and Jessie (and Ted) Fleming of Pleasant Hill; 3 great grandchildren, Ethan Fleming, Tristen Fleming, and Kyra Fleming; one brother Ron Sudhoff, of Ocala, Florida; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 13, 2017, at the funeral home. Reverend Jason Ku will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Katie Sudhoff, Ryan Sudhoff, B.J. Sudhoff, Kyle Sudhoff, Corey Sudhoff and Casey Sudhoff.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill First Presbyterian Church or Crossroads Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
