Roscoe Pruett

May 25, 1921 — December 10, 2007

Roscoe V. Pruett passed away with family by his side on Monday, December 10, 2007 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville, Mo.
Roscoe was born May 25th, 1921 in Willow Springs, Mo. to Mary Magdalene (Elmore) Pruett and Lewis Coleman Pruett. He had a large family that included 13 siblings.
Roscoe met his wife, Florence Glendening, in Kansas City, Kansas where she owned a restaurant called the Ace Caf where he spent much of his time drinking coffee. They married on August 3rd, 1956. They had 2 children together, Kevin and Roxy.
They lived in the Kansas City, Kansas area for over 40 years. There Roscoe was a forklift operator for the Permatex/Loctite Corp in Fairfax before retiring in 1982.
On May 11th, 2000, Roscoe lost his wife and best friend, Florence. He was lost without her and decided to move to Harrisonville, Mo. to be near his daughter and her family. He spent the last 7 years in Harrisonville, which he adapted to really quickly. He loved the people here and he quickly had his own place in his daughter's home. He was only an hour away from the Sac/Osage River where he could go fishing whenever he wantedwhich was quite often.
Roscoe started attending Crossroads Assembly of God church and he immediately felt at home there. Going to church and trying to live the way the bible taught him was always very important to him.
Roscoe loved his family with all of his heart. He was the best dad and grandpa anyone could have ever wanted and we were truly ""blessed"" to have him as ours. He will definitely be missed here, but we will see him again and he promised to watch for us all and open the gates if he was allowed to.
Roscoe was proceeded in death by his wife, Florence. He is survived by their son and his wife, Kevin and Mary Pruett of Kansas City, Mo; and daughter and her husband, Roxy and Doug Malone, Harrisonville, Missouri. 5 Grandchildren, Lisa Pruett, Ryan Pruett, Zach Pruett and girlfriend, Stacie Randolph, Aaron Malone and wife Sarah, and Adam Malone and girlfriend, Kristin Tippie. A future great grandchild that is going to arrive in the spring. Many, many, more relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial next to his wife of 44 years at the Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
