Roy Smith

Roy S. Smith, of Lees Summit, Missouri was born December 10, 1921 in Garden City, Missouri the son of Jacob P. and Ida (Oesch) Smith. He departed this life Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Jefferson Health Care, Lees Summit at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 15 days.
Roy was a owner and operator for Smith Truck Lines, Garden City, Missouri in the 1950s and later was a car salesman for DeBacker Chevrolet, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in 1977. He was an Army veteran. He had lived in Garden City, Kansas City, Rothville and Liberty, Missouri before moving to Lees Summit in 2005.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Russell and Randal; three brothers, Joe, John and Ralph Smith; two sisters, Blanche Weaver and Lela Hartzler.
He is survived by his son Ronald L. Smith and wife Kathryn, Atlanta, Georgia, Richard Smith, Lees Summit, Missouri, Rodney L. Smith, Kansas City North, Missouri; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends.

& interment was held Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, MO.
