Mrs. Ruby Grieser, of Garden City, Missouri, was born April 19, 1914 in ONeil, Nebraska the daughter of John K. and Lena (Oswald) Erb. She departed this life, Monday, March 19, 2007 at her home in Garden City at the age of 92 years and 9 months.
On February 5, 1931, Ruby was united in marriage to Ben Grieser in Beemer, Nebraska.
Ruby was employed as the food supervisor for Frazee Care Center, Frazee, Minnesota until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church, near Garden City, Missouri. Ruby enjoyed quilting, knitting and reading. She had lived in Frazee, Minnesota before moving to Garden City in 1983.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben on June 22, 1970; a granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Grieser; three brothers, Omar, Ezra and John Erb; a sister, Wilma Nitzsche.
She is survived by a son, Duane Grieser and wife Marilyn, Garden City, Missouri; a daughter, Barbara Towse, Leawood, Kansas; five grandchildren, Linda Sisk and husband Jim, Douglas Grieser and wife Sheila all of Garden City, Missouri, Patrick Grieser, Harrisonville, Missouri, Stacy Overman and husband Ben, Stilwell, Kansas, John Towse, Westwood, Kansas; seven great-grandchildren, Deena Steckly and husband Scott, Kansas City, Missouri, Matthew Sisk and wife Tara, Lees Summit, Missouri, Jana Riggs and husband John, Ben Grieser all of Garden City, Missouri, Katie, Tommy and Annie Overman all of Stilwell, Kansas; seven great-great-grandchildren, Tony, Luke, and Wyatt Steckly, Elizabeth and Nathaniel Riggs, Corina and Tye Sisk; a brother, Walter Erb, Hesston, Kansas.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church near Garden City, Missouri with burial in Lake Region Mennonite Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Region Mennonite Cemetery or the American Bible Society.
