Mrs. Ruth E. Carnes, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born October 22, 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Sarah Sweigert. She departed this life Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Lee?s Summit Medical Center, Lee?s Summit, Missouri at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 7 days.
On July 3, 1942, Ruth was united in marriage to Charles W. Fuller Jr. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On August 17, 1972, she was united in marriage to Milton Carnes in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Ruth was a homemaker and very proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Ivy Leaf #215 Order of the Eastern Star, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Ruth was a wonderful apple butter maker and pie baker especially her pie crust which was ?to die for?. She had lived in Pleasant Hill since 1972.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles W. Fuller Jr. on October 30, 1970; her second husband, Milton Carnes on April 3, 2003 and son, Charles W. Fuller III on June 12, 2008.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas Fuller and wife Amy, Phoenix, Arizona, Michael Fuller and wife Eileen, Carlsbad, New Mexico, David Fuller and wife Pamela, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two daughters, Joanne Wilhelm and Ron Rothenberger, Milledgeville, Georgia, Patricia Fuller, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
