Sharon Kay Shifflett-McPhail

Mrs. Sharon K. (Shifflett) McPhail was born on August 23, 1950 in Atchison Kansas the daughter of Roy Lee and Kathryn (Picraux) Shifflett. She departed this life Thursday, January 22, 2009, surrounded by her family, at her home in Kansas City Missouri at the age of 58 years, 4 months and 29 days.
For many years, Sharon was employed as a caretaker for special needs adults and teens. She was raised in Garden City Missouri, and moved to Kansas City in 1972.
Besides her beloved mother and father, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, David H. McPhail and her brother, Pete Shifflett.
She is survived by her son, Aaron Chamberlain and his wife Rebecca, her sister, Frances ""Dolly"" Shifflett, her sister-in-law Carol Shifflett, her longtime friend Louisa Owens, and her beloved Chihuahuas, Coco, Kato, ChaCha, and Bubby.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, Missouri under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Mo. with burial at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, Missouri.
