Shirley Fay Parris

Shirley Fay Parris, 83, of Pleasant Hill, was born May 21, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Fay Julian and Opal Clementine (Perkins) Wilson. She departed this life at 8:40 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at the Golden Years Nursing Home, Harrisonville.
Shirley was first united in marriage to Jack Smith on June 11, 1949, in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1979. On December 28, 1979, she was united in marriage to Daniel Loren Parris in Pleasant Hill. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2001.
Shirley was employed as a laborer for the A.D. Mohr Greenhouse. She was a member of the Hope Baptist Church and a former member of the Ivy Leaf Chapter #215, Order of the Eastern Star. She love crocheting and fishing.
Shirley was also preceded in death by one son, Timothy Smith, and two great grandchildren, Jase Williams, and Caleb Smith.
She is survived by her three sons, John (and Mary) Smith of Linn Grove, Iowa, Daniel (and Mary) Smith, and Michael Smith both of Pleasant Hill; one brother David (and Joan) Wilson, of Pleasant Hill; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Reverend Richard Williams will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Terry Hatfield, Jimmy Dean Ross, Jason Smith, Josh Smith, Adam Petrowsky, and Travis Williamson.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
