Shirley June Olive of Peculiar, Missouri was born June 19, 1935 in Greenville, Illinois the daughter of Levi and Lillie (Ennen) Daniels. She departed this life on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 22 days.
On January 7, 1955 Shirley was united in marriage to Clarence "Shorty" Olive in Greenville, Illinois. She and Shorty grew up together in Greenville and after they got married, they moved to Iowa where they raised their four children.
Shirley was a homemaker until her children were raised. She was then employed in the laundry room for a nursing home and later moved into the position of a file clerk. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Upon her retirement, Shirley and Shorty bought a motor home and traveled all over staying in Nevada, Iowa and Texas before moving to Peculiar.
Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Shorty and three brothers and a sister.
Shirley is survived by three sons, Butch Olive and wife, Tami, Blue Grass, Iowa, Dave Olive and wife, Tammy, Dixon, Iowa, Larry Olive and wife. Mary, Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Sherri L. Lehman, Peculiar, Missouri; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Daniels, Pana, Illinois; two sisters, Meb Ulmet, Smithboro, Illinois, Dot Ruch, Pahrump, Nevada; other relatives and a host of friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation has been accorded.
