Ted Duane Masters of Freeman, Missouri was born August 13, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Fred Gilmore and Carol Ann (Cox) Masters. He departed this life on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at his home near Freeman surrounded by his family at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 8 days.
On, June 18, 1976 Ted was united in marriage to Janet Kay Schreckenghaust in Grandview, Missouri.
Ted was employed as a sheet metal worker for Metcraft, Grandview, Missouri for 30 years until his retirement on June 21, 2008. He was a member of Local 2 of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Kansas City, Missouri. Ted had attended Grandview High School and had attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed his family and was proud of his grandchildren, making bonfires for family gatherings, motorcycle riding, watching and racing cars. He is survived by his wife, Janet K. Masters of the home; four daughters, Angela West and husband, John Jr., Creighton, Missouri, Kara Essenpries and husband, Jarid, Archie, Missouri, Linsey Marriott and husband, Kevin, Sedalia, Missouri, Shelly Masters, Belton, Missouri; six grandchildren, Dakotah, Austin, Dalton, Jordyn, Tanner, Allysyn and expecting one; his parents, Fred and Carol Masters, Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Fred Masters, Butler, Missouri, Scott Masters, Raymore, Missouri; two sisters, Trisha Porter, Salasaw, Oklahoma, Traci Masters, Grandview, Missouri; maternal step-grandmother, Joann Holstein, Glendale, Arizona; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Florence Schreckenghaust, Belton, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Freeman Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Ted D. Masters Memorial Fund.
