Thomas "Benji" Brooks

Thomas Benjamin “Benij” Brooks of Archie, Missouri was born June 28, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Thomas Walter and Sylvia LaVonn (Schlegel) Brooks. He departed this life on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by love and family at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 5 days.

Benji was employed as a service manager for Calverts Express Auto in Belton, Missouri and had worked extensively with several other automotive dealerships in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Benji enjoyed being around his children and grand-children. He liked riding his Harley, the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Benji was a 1980 graduate of Harrisonville High School and was a lifelong area resident.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas.

He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Brooks and his brother, Rick Brooks both of Nixa, Missouri; his companion, Alisa Myers of the home; children who called him dad, Josh Hessling, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Destinie Long, Butler, Missouri, Chance Myers and Kevin Myers both of Butler, Missouri, Kristen Myers, Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; several grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.  

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 1:00 pm. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
