Mrs. Tina Lynn Welton of Peculiar, Missouri was born October 16, 1965 in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida the daughter of William Norman and Genevia Rose (Waggoner) Sims. She departed this life Thursday, June 14, 2007 at her home near Peculiar at the age of 41 years, 7 months and 28 days.
On September 13, 1984, Tina was united in marriage to William Damon Welton in Twin Bridges, Missouri.
Tina was employed as a secretary and licensed insurance agent for Leonard Mills, American Family Insurance Agency, Harrisonville, Missouri since 1990. She enjoyed her job, visiting with people, was friendly, outgoing and compassionate. Tina was a member of Coleman Baptist Church near Peculiar and was attending Christ Is King Church, Kansas City, Missouri. She was a 1984 graduate of Willow Springs, Missouri High School. She enjoyed her family, being a mom, the children at church, outdoors, her garden and flowers. She liked viewing the scenery on the family vacation trips, especially the country and mountains. Tina moved to Kansas City in May of 1986 and to Peculiar in 1989.
She is survived by her husband, Damon Welton of the home; two sons, Barrett Welton and wife, Amber, Peculiar, Missouri, Clifton Welton, Grandview, Missouri; her parents, Bill and Genevia Sims, Peace Valley, Missouri; a brother, Steven Sims, Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Melody Bradley, Oran, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Douglas County, Missouri with interment in Little Zion Cemetery, Douglas County, Missouri. Funeral arrangments in Douglas County, Missouri are under the direction of at Elliott-Gentry-Crader Funeral Home, Cabool, Missouri.
