Tony Clay Cumpton, of Lowry City, Missouri, was born September 24, 1985 in Clinton, Missouri, the son of Cole Arden and Twila Mae (Cosper) Cumpton. He departed this life Saturday, March 15, 200 from injuries sustained in a boating accident on Truman Lake, Osceola, Missouri at the age of 22 years.
Tony was a self employed laborer and carpenter where he did rough-in construction on homes, cutting and delivering firewood or whatever else that needed to be done. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clinton, Missouri. Tony loved to hunt and fish and spending time with his dog ""Shasta"". He had lived in Calhoun, Missouri before moving to Lowry City in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his mother and paternal grandfather, Tommy Cumpton.
He is survived by his father, Cole A. Cumpton, Calhoun, Missouri; his girlfriend, Lauren (Mootz) Cumpton and their expectant child due in late September of the home; four brothers, Travis Cosper and Tommy Cumpton both of Independence Missouri, Tanner Escalante and Tukker Cumpton both of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Tawna Surrell, Warsaw, Missouri; his paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Karen and Ed Hagerman; paternal great-grandmother, Loretta Pratt, Holt Summit, Missouri; maternal grandfather, Charles Cosper, Anchorage, Alaska; other relatives and many friends.
Services were held Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, 209 E. Jefferson, Clinton, MO 64735, 660-885-2211 with burial in the Dayton Cemetery near Garden City, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Tony Cumpton Memorial Fund.
