Wallace Dean (Wally) Jenkins was born November 1, 1934 in a farm house west of Knob Noster to Walter David Jenkins and Ola Fay Peery Jenkins. He passed away on November 2, 2008. He married Conny Sue Jennings on July 14, 1978. Wallace had owned and operated service stations and was a real estate broker. He had served as alderman and mayor. He had a great love of fishing, traveling across the nation to compete in bass tournaments.
He married Mary Tuckweller in 1956 and they were blessed with three children. His children are: Julia Ann Westbrook and her husband John, of Parkville, MO, Jill Elaine Heir and husband Steve of Philadelphia PA, and Jeffery Dean Jenkins of Springfield MO. The grandchildren are Jesse David Caldwell, Jason Michael Caldwell, John Wellington Westbrook, James Emerson Westbrook, Joseph Wallace Westbrook, Nicholas Dean Jenkins and Rachel Ann Jenkins. One great grandson, Alezander Jason Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Dempsy, Houston, George and Albert. He is survived by brothers Thomas of Lone Jack and Marvin of Warrensburg. Wallace had wonderful memories of his childhood growing up on the farm outside of Knob Noster with his six brothers. He told loving tales of the endless farm chores and the antics of a house full of boys.
Funeral service were held Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Heartland Church, Knob Noster, MO with one hour visitation following the service.
Graveside service were helde at first light in the Grant Cemetery near Creighton, MO on Friday, November 7, 2008.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Church Building Fund.
