Wanda Marie O’Hara age 94 of Burlington, Iowa died at 8:32 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Klein Center, West Burlington, Iowa. She was born on January 3, 1928 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of AT and Irene (Duvall) Pollock.
On June 24, 1953 Wanda was united in marriage to Richard E. “Gene” O’Hara in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Wanda was a graduate of Sunset High School, Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Chevy Chase College in Washington, D.C. in 1947, where she was captain of her hockey team, voted most valuable athlete and Princess of the American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri. She loved motherhood and devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. O’Hara on February 5, 1997 and a son-in-law, Vince Tringali.
Wanda is survived by two sons, Richard E. O’Hara Jr. California, Kevin O’Hara (Lisa), Iowa, three daughters, Karen Tringali, Illinois, Kathy Smith (Michael), Oklahoma, Tami Stewart (Sam Runyan), Iowa; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
Family suggests contributions may be made to Great River Hospice, West Burlington, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at the funeral home.
